Is this composition a fairly tale or does heaven on earth really exist for some men? Two handsome gentlemen are playing chess. Their father is the minutious guardian of time for each move. The three men are very focused, each brain ready for imminent change. A drink is at hand for the discussions afterwards. In the ideal world of men exists the ideal woman. Dressed in a beautiful princess’s dress she appears with sweetness as soon as she suspects her loved ones might desire some. Pure indulgence, but so much love and respect are given in return - heaven on earth also exists for her.

Carine Van Gerven (b.1966) is a Belgian professional photographer. After her studies in art and painting, she became an art teacher in Overpelt in the Flanders region. She has been working as a professional instructor with the youth on art workshops ever since. In 2016, she co-founded the cultural event Lens op de Mens – Fotofestival Pelt and currently is the president and creative leader of the bi-annual festival.
