The Sundanese are indigenous ethnic people of the western region of Java island, in Indonesia. Their traditional occupation is agriculture, especially rice cultivation: Sundanese culture, beliefs and traditions are usually centered around the rice agricultural cycle. Many Sundanese still practice ancient trades such as traditional umbrellas and pottery manufacturers, fabric dyers, fish dryers, fishing net menders or water lily harvesters.
