Honorable Mention TIFA 2021 Nature / Sunset

Color of The Wings

When photographing wildlife, I prefer a wider angle that includes features of their environment. Viewing wildlife through the camera lens along with their natural habitat inspires me to try to highlight the sublime beauty of nature. I have been wanting to take a photo of the great egret amid this particularly unique looking pine tree for a while. After many visits to the location during the sunset, the moment finally came when the great egret flew away from the branch. My patience was rewarded, and I was able to capture the image as the golden ray of the sunset shone on the bird’s white wings.

During college, Fenqiang took an interest in photography. After finishing his BA degree in Chinese literature, he obtained his MFA in Cinema and Photography at Southern Illinois University. After graduation, Fenqiang worked as a computer animator and motion graphic designer. In recent years, Fenqiang has devoted his time to nature and wildlife photography and won multiple international photo awards. Fenqiang’s cultural influence from both the East and the West, his artistic background, and his photography mastery allow him to express his thoughts and emotions in a unique style.
