I have been following Domenico and his son Gianluca for 4 years; they are the guardians of some olive groves in the Picena valley, land of the well-known "Ascolana" olive tree. The care of the olive trees still has many phases that are carried out manually with archaic gestures that are transmitted from father to son. Thanks to the cooperation of these men present throughout the nation and to the microclimatic characteristics of the Italian regions, the value of the Italian extra virgin olive oil market is kept high and it is possible to hope that their culture will not be lost.
