Senza Mare proposes a reflection on the cultural heritage of inland Sardinia,Italy. It will go to press in Nov 2020 with Crowdbooks Publishing. Senza Mare is a visual archive of those deeply Sardinian traditions and aesthetics, as opposed to the globalisation of recent decades. The first part of the book focuses on Carnival traditions – many of those go back to pre-Christian times and are related to ancient Dionysian rites. The second part is dedicated to female traditional costumes, investigating the world of contemporary Sardinian women, and their delicate balance between past and present.
