Penguins are some of the fastest swimmers, but they are slow and clumsy when getting around on land. These highways help the lovely birds get from their nests, which are often 100 meters above sea level, to the ocean. Penguin highways are narrow and deep into the ground built by hundreds of penguins to nurture and protect their offspring over several generations.
