The Pink Lotus is one of the most beautiful flowers in the world, and is remarkably unique as it grows from a murky pond full of mud. The purity and rebirth of something so beautiful and pure in an environment of impurity is a true juxtaposition that symbolizes how we can find beauty in all sorts of places. Initially the intention was to take the photo with the lotus full of life and vigor. However, finding beauty in something that has already aged and withered provides a stronger and more striking meaning, as it represents the passage of time.
