The series shows the children of my ex partners, from my perspective as a stepmother. I am the mother of a daughter and after 28 years it still feels like a miracle to have led someone safely through life. With changing partnerships, other children came into my life, the children of my partners from past relationships. These children have also enriched my life and still do it today, although the partnerships with their fathers are long gone. What I have learned from this is that when you give young children love, respect and appreciation, the friendship that results is my greatest achievement.

I have been a freelense photographer for over 25 years. Photography has given me a good life, valuable encounters with people and places that I would never have known without this profession.
