Evering Road is a mile long road in the heart of Hackney, London,UK. I've lived here for more than eight years, without ever truly knowing those around me. Lockdown presented a unique opportunity. I couldn’t do my usual work, but I could turn my camera on to my own community. At first, the project was mostly for my personal sanity, but in talking to the people of Evering Road, I began to uncover a consoling web of human stories, small gestures and common threads. One of the few positives of this pandemic has been how communities have pulled together.

Born in Rome. After a five year degree course in Communications, Sociology & Media, I moved to London in 2003 . Since July 2005 I have been a regular freelancer with The Guardian, loving this job more and more, and working within a very stimulating and exciting environment. My background in sociology and communication has definitely shaped my approach to the media. I use photography as my tool to explore human beings and their relationships and I have understood through my experience how photography can cement or create human relationships and special boundaries that go well beyond any physic
