'Aurukun - Generations' Aurukun Wik elders Silas (90) and Rebecca Wolmby (83) with their great grand children - Shalona and Keola - outside their house in the Cape York Peninsula indigenous community. I have pictured Silas and Rebecca on several occasions for stories about Aurukun’s problems - alcohol abuse, youth suicide, sexual violence, school truancy, law enforcement and other pressing social issues … and the good times including the day the township celebrated their successful Native Title claim. The future for their family in the troubled community has always been their priority.
