During my meetings with centenarians from the Montérégie region, Québec, Canada, I became interested in the efforts that these women put into (or don’t), looking good and the many challenges that they face. I asked them about youth, old age, feminism, sexuality, charm, appearance, love, etc., and I documented their rituals of beauty. Through these portraits, I want to questions society’s obsession with youth and beauty standards. I also seek to give a voice to these women whose beauty is rarely acknowledged.

• Biography
  While working as a journalist in the Great North, I began playing with documentary photography. This experience inspired me to do a Master’s degree in photojournalism at the University of the Arts of London, which I obtained with honors. During my numerous trips abroad, I developed a photographic style that combines art, documentary and social awareness. For many years, I have been taking interest in the “invisible” people living in my own community. I now devote a big part of my art to the elderly.
