The Watcher and the Dancer This is a true story, drawn on experiences, emotions and facts from my life. It focuses on two sisters: Pola – diagnosed with cerebral palsy and Julia. Pola, after a complex spinal surgery, strives not to allow her condition to prevent her from enjoying the process of growing up to the full. I attempt to emphasize this particular aura surrounding the relations between us all - me and my daughters. Eventually, depicting just a mother’s conflicting emotional state. Through the images, I express an array of joys and sorrows, tell my story and never forget how love and pain go hand in hand. They all mix together and become ubiquitous in one’s life. In the end, it contains elements that are meaningful, poetical and beautiful. This is my intimate story.
