Shattered Lives Post-Kermanshah Earthquake

An earthquake with a moment magnitude of 7.3 occurred on the Iran–Iraq border and struck a large part of Kermanshah Province, west of Iran On Sunday, November 12, 2017. The fatal earthquake claimed 620 lives, injured 9,388 and left 70,000 people homeless. Many survivors of the quake are experiencing posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) which is a mental problem that can develop after a person is exposed to various traumas such as natural disasters, warfare, and so on. PTSD is also common among surviving family members.
