The ancient people of Turkana are ‘dressed’ with their civilization preserving it through their daily struggle for survival in the harsh desert. 'Dressing' is not about a few pieces of fabric masterfully matched nor about a random addition of western touches to the traditional look. The images aim to give a glimpse into the world of the Turkana and the changes they undergo due to the invasion of the modern world caused by oil discovery in the region.Children in school must now wear western clothes, women nudity is now shamed and boys carry guns. The images are a testimony of life in transition.
