This project is articulated by photographs of ordinary buildings. Compositions formed by lines and shaded surfaces seek to find an abstract and minimalist aesthetic in the daily life of the urban environment. The intention is to suggest that art can be perceived anywhere by anyone. By moving away from the realistic representation of its object - the architectural building - and adopting a visual record close to the drawing or engraving, each image provokes doubts and stimulates the questioning of the photographic language itself. “Lines of Shadow”, in short, is an invitation to look.

Architect and photographer, José Roberto Bassul was born in Rio de Janeiro and lives in Brasilia. Focusing on architecture and urban landscapes, his works have been awarded in several important competitions such as Int'l Photography Awards (1st place, 2018), Tokyo Int'l Foto Awards (silver and bronze awards, 2018) and Prix de la Photographie Paris PX3 (gold and bronze awards, 2017 and 2018). His photographs were exhibited individually in Brazil and collectively in many cities worldwide and are part of public and private collections.
