More than ever, the global economy is driven by the movement of goods from region to region, country to country, port to port. With transport of these goods being largely fossil fuel-dependent, this network of commodity movement also has significant implications for the amount of carbon emissions released into the environment. This photo series visually documents the structure and design of one of the world’s busiest ports, Rotterdam port in the Netherlands, through which move 7.4 million containers and 444.8 million metric tons of goods - many commodities that most of us encounter in our daily lives.
