Cities - a conceptual vision

This series of images was created with the intention of presenting conceptually the great cities of today. In fact, I am based in the American and Asian cities, with huge buildings and colors that illuminate them at night. In a first approach the first image "city of colors" is based on the colors of urban landscapes around the world, it brings the colors of a city illuminated at night. From a conceptual perspective, the architect appears, a fundamental piece in these creations, an image that demonstrates the vision of these people who see us every year with art in the form of buildings. The "Electric-city" image, showing today's cities, population growth, people's mobility for coastal zones and concentration, is summed up in a massive energy demand that has a widespread impact on life and the environment around the globe. I did not want to be left out of the events that affect security in the same cities, in this case, I paid homage to the US twin towers. The image "the city" is a view of New York City. Never been there, but this was my first creation that defined this series of mine. All images were created with simple elements in my house, on the black glass and the black card in the bottom, except for the "twin towers", were used for a long exposure of the ocean, previously captured in the north coast of my country, Portugal A last view created with nail rolls presents a view of the tower of Pisa in Italy, leaving from the perspective of big cities, passing to a romantic and historical city.

My name is Antonio Bernardino Martins Coelho, I am from a small village in the north of Portugal, where I live. I am 40 years old, married and father of two girls. I work as an electrical engineer. A taste for painting was evident in me early on, but it was only in 2010 after a trip to Cuba that I became interested in photography, having captured a lot of images. However, having a small digital camera, I started to acquire analog equipment and develop the photography learning activity in a self-taught way, using very old and medium format machines. My favorite camera is the Zeiss Ikon Nettar.
