Out of my series LA Tapestries in this composition I was inspired to play with a sequence of shots taken in a single alley in Los Angeles' Venice Beach. I started putting layer upon layer, playing with the repetition of colors, lines and shadows in an almost abstract Urban Tapestry.

I am a Dutch artist that lives and works in Almere, near Amsterdam. In 1990 I graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Tilburg in photography, painting and drawing. Since the development of digital photography my camera and computer have become important tools for creation. Because of my fascination with patterns, music scores, languages and other types of structures, my work always has been inhabited by geometric shapes, lines and rhythm. My current passion is the abstract beauty of architecture. Through my photographic work I hope to inspire and touch people's souls with visual music.
