Inspired by concepts of zen-Buddhism and Japanese arts like shodo and sumi-e my photographs are an invitation to the viewer to find inner peace as well as awareness for the beauty that surrounds us everyday. To achieve this, I'm using a photographic style where I take my photographs only in particular light and weather conditions, utilizing snow, fog and diffused light from overcast skies. The muted light results in a more painterly look that features less realistic details. By doing this, I'm looking for ways to make the unspeakable, underlying elements of the images tangible for the viewers
