This is a series of self-portraits taken between 1998 and 2023. The early photographs were shot on film. I use self-portraiture to explore personal issues but also at some point I've come to the realization that - as they say - 'The personal is political'. This means that in some of the photos I probably embody many women's concerns and fears. In a couple of the portraits I have tried to explore the notion of 'femininity'. What is femininity? Can I be feminine while I'm wearing a moustache? My photographs raise some questions, but I'm not sure if they provide any answers. No AI was used.
