For my book project 'Forgotten Heroes', I photographed the world of Dutch crafts. For three years I traveled all over the country in search of the most extraordinary, still existing crafts, to capture them in all their glory. The craft sector has a huge cultural, social, economic, and environmental impact on their society. But it is a sector threatened with extinction. Many crafts are already on the edge of disappearing. The series aims to enthuse the new generation about this sector to save it from extinction and help the world on its way to sustainability.

In the work of photographer Ezra Böhm, culture and history are the main themes. Through his photography he is looking for meaning of the 'human identity'. Questions such as: who are we, where do we come from and what has made us who we are, he tries to show the viewer. "For me, the strength, pride or authenticity of a human individual shows the essence of identity. With these aspects I create a romanticized image. The photographs I make reflect how I see the world, it shows my imagination, elevated above the imperfections of the worldly."
