Himebotaru, which is an indigenous firefly species of Japan, fly around the forest while repeating a blink of a short time—reminiscent of Christmas illumination. The sight is fantastic enough to forget the awe of the night forest. It is the brightness of life for only ten days of the summer. Forests are living things, and many flora and fauna coexist. The life time of each creature is not the same, the time of each life will flow, and the life will be repeated. They are a precious existence that people should not threaten. I just hope that this forest and its fireflies will be protected.

Born in 1977 in Yamagata,Japan. While taking portraits at his photo studio, Koseki continues to capture in his works the world of mountains, forests, and rivers by evoking the "five senses" throughout the four seasons in Yamagata. Since he was in his twenties, he has been involved in fly-fishing, which has given him a sense of awe for nature. What he has been feeling and experiencing through that experience influenced him to become active in environmental protection activities as well as communicating issues such as "changing nature due to global warming" and "environmental problems".
