September 2019. Torrential rains on the coast of Murcia region (Spain) grave rise to severe floods that caused significant material damage and worse, the loss of human lives. Climate change, in addition to four decades of negligent urban management accomplished by the local and regional governments, are the main causes of this fact. These episodes of devastating storms are becoming more and more frequent since the beginning of the 21st century. Reversing this situation is not only the great challenge we face, it is also our duty and obligation.
