Being diagnosed with bipolar disorder was excruciating. I lost my job and my boss's parting words were that I will never become anything. A friend came out to me telling his story of living with clinical depression most of his life. He is a mathematician and a deep person so his confession really helped me. In a few years, when I was back on my feet, Flora came to me and talked about being diagnosed with schizo-affective disorder. She was devastated. That day I came out to her about my bipolar diagnosis. We both are open about these things now, trying to reach others like us when needed.
