Albinos

There are many albinos in Mozambique, but when a couple has an albino child, they usually do not want to have more children for fear that the rest will be albino as well. This fear is due to the fact that they know they can be without them because they can be mistreated, persecuted, kidnapped and even killed. In this family, they had curiously 4 children and four are albinos. In these photos we only got 3 of the 4 brothers.

Luís Godinho was born in Angra do Heroísmo, Azores, in 1983. He holds a degree in Environmental Engineering and Management from University of Azores but also has a wide experience as a photographer, especially in photojournalism and documentary photography. As a winner and finalist of many international prizes, Luís also published some of his works in international photography editions.
