It was -13.9C in Biei, Hokkaido, Japan. After driving 2.5 hours in low visibility, I arrived at a magical winter fantasy. The usually intensely blue pond was completely frozen over from the severe winter condition. The tree limbs were decorated with powdery snow. As I became engulfed by the serenity of the scene, I patiently waited for the snow to fall at the perfect speed. Simultaneously the wind gently drifted the snow across the scene. The beauty of that moment created an emotional serene state.
