Urban Theater

In the making of this series, I am utterly attracted by the streetscape because of its enigma in creating a theatre-like effect. By the aesthetics of sunlight and shadows, people in the city can be seen as the actors and actresses on the street stage, and the sunlight can function like the spotlight. Under such natural spotlights, people in the city can be displayed in a dramatic moment of their soliloquies, manifesting a sense of solitude and isolation. Hence, the streets can be imagined/imaged as theatre in which the dynamics of modern life in metropolis is prominently being performed.
