In times of old, braids were used to avoid the rider's swords and axes to get entangled with the mane when fighting. Nowadays , braids are commonly used in a high number of equestrian sports. This braid is used in one of the oldest and most elegant equine sports, dressage, this braid allows the strong yet elegant neck of the horse to be shown as it runs from the poll of the neck to the base of the shoulders.

Fernanda Garza is a multiple award winning, internationally acclaimed contemporary artist and competitive dressage champion, specializing in fine art equine photography.\\r\\nBased in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, Fernanda’s artistic perspective is deeply rooted in her lifelong love of horses, and her work reflects a profound commitment to honoring the spirit of the horse.\\r\\nFernanda’s work has been exhibited in photographic exhibitions throughout Mexico and the United States.
