Arquipélago In an era where social environment is characterized by its huge mutability, “Arquipélago” shows us authentic people in authentic contexts, in an insular Africa deprived of natural resources. The photo essay from João Ferreira (Leiria, 1976) is a dip in two islands of an archipelago that has the name of a country: CAPE VERDE Produced in the spring of 2015, on the islands of São Vicente and Santo Antão, this work presents us a vision stripped of filters and illusions, which demonstrates the strength of photography in documenting the reality of a young country, celebrating 40 years of independence. “Arquipélago” runs along the tracks of a territory with a unique identity, mixture of love for music, for football and by the sea, with a poetic look over mankind.
