I develop an interest for the supernatural from a very early age, always inspired by fantasy and fairytales, on the first Saturday of October I headed very early in the morning to the beach to shoot the first paddle boarding meeting in Vancouver, British Columbia. The sky was smoky which made the light very delicate and magical, the water was serene it felt like nature itself was cooperating for that moment, you can see the misty mountains far away and meanwhile I was shooting I watched disappear the witches of kitsilano.

Poli Mundarain is a fine art, portrait photographer based in Vancouver, BC. She’s from Venezuela, covering mostly weddings and events and moved to Canada 7 years ago. Inspired by the nature of British Columbia, Poli started Melmestudios to shoot her dreams which always includes fairytales and fantasy themes. Poli’s storytelling creates magic from the most “ordinary” places to create a feel out of this world.
