This image was taken in Los Angeles at a spontaneous protest in result to the killing of George Floyd. I am a 21 year old African American photographer and student at Loyola Marymount University. I wanted to show my support but ended up documenting much more. I saw police bashing protestors with batons and shooting at them with riot canons. I was even shot in my side, leaving a permanent scar. These three men where the heros of the day. They stood united as police cars burned and officers berated these men with non lethal projectiles. They stood for something more than themselves.
