This project started in 1995. It is a long-term work about the esthetic value of the man-made objects built on the shores of the Lake Geneva in France and Switzerland (the lake stretches on the borders of both countries). I have been photographing Lake Geneva for more than 20 years now. Living on the lakeshore, I must say that I’ve never been bored watching this beautiful body of water season after season, year after year. Everyday, the magnificent combination of light and water tells a different story to those who want to take time contemplating the waterscape. My approach consists in depicting a personal vision of these man-made structures built above the water. Over time, these structures deeply affect the perception of the landscape one can have. They gradually belong to the landscape until they are completely mingled. To me, this ‘unwitting esthetics’ of the man-made constructions contributes to the beauty of Lake Geneva.
