This book, published to accompany the Outside Exhibition, presents an overview of David Magee’s approach to landscape photography. The images are reproduced with meticulous attention to detail, from the print production to the hand crafted binding and choice of papers used throughout. Square in format, exquisitely printed, bound in hand made Japanese paper. Featuring gold and translucent foiling, the book is an invaluable addition to any discerning collection of fine-art photography, especially for enthusiasts of landscape photography. Outside, is a gallery in itself with a collection of images that encapsulate the essence of his photography. Forty-seven plates, painstakingly selected from an extensive archive. The foreword is by Academy Award-winning screenwriter-director Terry George, who describes Magee’s photographic work as “a wonderful example of what photography does best. Through his images, he shares his memories. It is a gift. It is elemental. Enjoy.” An interview with Dr Collette Nolan, David answers some questions and explains why he started taking photographs, how his photography has evolved and outlines some plans for the future. Published by Concentric Editions, with only 500 copies worldwide, this limited edition book is signed and numbered by the artist.
