The wedding of Patrick and Fanny was celebrated in February 2017 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. Patrick is a Burkinabé; Fanny is a French national. Beyond being a reportage of the day, this series wants to explore the similarities and the differences between the two cultures. A former French colony, Burkina Faso gained independence as Upper Volta in 1960 but there is still a strong bond between the two countries. French remains the official language. It is widely spoken in the towns and cities.
