The following artwork represented by me, as basis a latin phrase which means ‘remember that you must die’. I present the decomposition of a female body in nine stages, since the beginning of her death until the ‘total’ disappearance of this woman. I use as means to express myself, a style called Japonism. However, this kind of representation is known kusôzu, it’s a style of art that appeared in the XIII century and endured until the XIX century. The meaning of kusôzu is literally “painting of the nine stages of decomposition of a body”.

Born in Lisbon, 1988. Studied at Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade de Lisboa, doing BFA in Multimedia Art, unfinished. During highschool studied Multimedia Technician at Escola Profissional D. Mariana Seixas, Viseu, Portugal. Studied one year at Akademie der Bildenden Künste, Munich, Germany, through the Erasmus Program while enrolled in FBAUL (Multimedia Art, major Photography). Studied one year Photography Technician at IEFP, Setúbal, Portugal.
